Orod Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the Orod rider app and the Orod Darawal (driver) app (together, "Orod," "we," "us"), used to arrange and complete rides and parcel deliveries in Mogadishu, Somalia. By creating an account or using either app, you agree to these Terms.

The service

Orod connects riders who need a ride or delivery with independent drivers. Orod is a booking and dispatch platform — the driver, not Orod, provides the actual transportation or delivery. Fares shown before you confirm a request are calculated from route distance and a fixed formula; the amount shown at confirmation is what applies to that trip, and does not change based on traffic or route taken unless the destination itself changes mid-trip.

Payment

Orod does not process payment directly inside the app. Riders and drivers settle the fare between themselves via EVC Plus (or another agreed method) after the trip, and each side confirms in the app that payment was sent/received. Orod is not a party to that payment and cannot reverse, guarantee, or refund it — any dispute about whether a payment was actually made is between the rider and driver, though you can report a problem to Orod support for a trip's record to be reviewed.

Cancellations

Riders can cancel a request at no charge before a driver is matched. After a driver accepts, please cancel as early as possible — repeated late cancellations may affect your ability to use the service. Drivers may also decline or cancel a request; Orod will look for another driver where possible.

Accounts and conduct

• You're responsible for the accuracy of the information on your account, and for keeping your PIN confidential.
• Riders and drivers are expected to treat each other with respect and follow applicable local transportation laws.
• Orod may suspend or terminate an account for fraud, abuse, unsafe behavior, or violation of these Terms.
• You can delete your account and its data at any time — see the account deletion section of the Privacy Policy for how.

Drivers

Drivers are independent and not employees or agents of Orod. Approval to drive on Orod requires submitting a valid driving licence, vehicle registration, and identification, which are reviewed before an account is activated. Orod may deactivate a driver account at any time for safety, verification, or policy reasons.

Safety

Orod's in-app safety features (including the SOS/location-share button) let you quickly share your live location with a contact of your choosing through your phone's own share options. They are not a direct connection to police, ambulance, or other emergency services — in a genuine emergency, contact your local emergency services directly first.

Disclaimers and liability

Orod provides the app "as is." We work to keep matching, routing, and fare information accurate, but real-world conditions (traffic, GPS accuracy, connectivity) can affect them. To the extent permitted by law, Orod's liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the fare amount of the trip in question.

Changes to these Terms

If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
